Si6 Metals kicks off base and precious metals exploration in Botswana
Si6 Metals has begun base and precious metals exploration in Botswana's Limpopo Mobile Belt, opening with soil and rock sampling and geological mapping at the Maibele East and Mashambe prospects along strike to the north-east of the Maibele North resource, with further groundwork planned at Gobjango. The work aims to define targets for ground geophysics and possible drill testing across tenure the company owns outright — ground that makes up the bulk of its roughly 2,000km² Botswana package, with the joint venture licences covering only about 143km². Si6 has also started a desktop review with the University of Botswana into the portfolio's potential to host lithium, tin, tantalum and other pegmatite-hosted critical minerals, prompted by earlier sampling that returned unexplained anomalism near the Zimbabwe border.
