Si6 Metals says ‘job done’ for phase-2 drilling at Monument Gold Project
Si6 Metals has wrapped up phase two aircore drilling at its Monument gold project, testing five prospect areas made up of two felsic intrusions and three structural targets on ground directly adjacent to and along strike of Dacian Gold's Mt Morgans project. The program intersected a wide range of prospective lithologies including granite, porphyry, gabbro, dolerite, ultramafic, sediment and felsic volcanic, with some holes running past 100m — depths the company reads as deep weathering along major mantle-tapping structures instrumental to Archean lode gold deposits. A further 35 holes for 1,326m were drilled at the high-priority Korong felsic intrusion and 14 holes for 684m at Aermotor, where earlier drilling found anomalous gold in quartz veining. Chairman Patrick Holywell says the early findings are promising, with structural targets tested at Triton, North Well and Celia.
