Si6’s long wait is over as approval secured for Maibele drilling
Si6 Metals can finally proceed with drilling at its Maibele base metals project in Botswana after receiving approval from the liquidators of joint venture partner BCL Limited — clearing a blockage that had held up plans since 2021. The approval opens the way for the company to finalise discussions with the mining and environmental departments, ahead of testing drill targets generated by its 2021 geophysical programs. Maibele hosts a resource of 2.4Mt at 0.72% nickel and 0.21% copper plus PGMs and gold, with nickel sulphide mineralisation related to ultramafic intrusions in a style comparable to Nova-Bollinger, Julimar and Canada's Thompson Belt.
