Si6 Metals begins exploration and drilling at new JV licences in Botswana
Si6 Metals (ASX: SI6) has had new joint venture licences issued to its wholly owned subsidiary Africa Metals, replacing licences that had been suspended for around seven years and allowing exploration and drilling to get underway in Botswana. The reinstated ground covers the advanced Maibele North nickel-copper-cobalt-PGE resource of 2.4Mt at 0.72% nickel and 0.21% copper plus PGMs and gold, along with the high-grade Airstrip and Dibete copper-silver discoveries. Most drilling on the licences predates 2014, and while it underpinned the Maibele resource calculation, the Airstrip and Dibete results have never been assessed for resource potential — something follow-up drilling is intended to test. Read the full article for how the licences were reinstated and where the 60:40 joint venture with BCL stands.
