Si6, Foxfire JV kicks-off Brazilian rare earths sampling
Si6 Metals has mapped and sampled clay-rich saprolite outcrops up to 12m thick at the Caldera joint venture it shares with Foxfire Metals, inside Brazil's Poços de Caldas Alkaline Intrusive Complex. Sixteen soil, channel and auger samples are now with the SGS Geosol laboratory in Minas Gerais, with any anomalous results to be followed up by auger drilling, and Foxfire managing the on-ground work as the local partner. The complex is one of the largest alkaline igneous bodies on the planet — around 800km² of surface expression, 30km across — and is understood to be homogeneously mineralised with rare earths hosted in clays. Read the full article for the results neighbouring explorers have pulled out of the same complex, and for what the JV has lined up next in Brazil's Lithium Valley.
