Junior explorer Si6 takes lead role in mining ESG movement with reporting commitment
Si6 Metals (ASX: SI6) has adopted an ESG framework built on the 21 core metrics and disclosures created by the World Economic Forum, and engaged impact monitoring platform Socialsuite to run its disclosure and reporting. The framework covers governance, anti-corruption practices, ethical behaviour, human rights, carbon emissions, land use, ecological sensitivity, water consumption, diversity and inclusion, pay equality and tax payments. Executive chairman Patrick Holywell says he is proud to be starting the company's ESG journey and that Si6 is committed to exploring responsibly in Western Australia and Botswana while contributing to local communities. An initial baseline report is due later in the year — read the full article for how the commitment sits alongside the company's Botswana and Monument programs.
