Si6 finds new base metal hints and invests in the Kalahari copper belt in Botswana’s elephant country
Soil sampling across Si6 Metals' wholly owned Botswana tenure has returned elevated copper, zinc and nickel coincident with the Maibele North linear trend, opening a new front outside the company's joint venture ground. The program sampled along 40 lines of 2km spaced 200m apart, and identified ultramafic lithology along the Maibele-Mashambe trend — a potential preferential horizon for nickel sulphides — while mapping at Gobajango revealed previously unknown trenches across gossanous material and outcropping ultramafics coinciding with GEOTEM anomalies. Technical director Steve Groves says the results on 100%-owned ground are a positive step as the company looks to accelerate exploration in Botswana, with detailed mapping and ground geophysics to follow.
